I write about the aesthetics and politics of revivals in bluegrass and South Asian music. I received my PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and joined the music department at Warren Wilson College in 2019. I teach many types of classes at WWC, from seminars and appreciation courses to theory, banjo lessons, and bluegrass ensemble. My scholarship appears in Ethnomusicology, American Music, Asian Music, and Bhabnagar, as well as in a forthcoming edited volume for Illinois University Press. Here is my C.V.
